Father Bishoy Wassef

 

Father Bishoy Wassef was born Samy Fayez Wassef to a blessed Christian family in the city of Alexandria, Egypt.

​

He attained his Doctorate and graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine/ Surgery specialising in Nephrology from the University of Alexandria, Egypt in 1980.

​

He became a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Physicians in 2008 as a practicing general physician and one of only a handful of renal medicine specialists in Queensland - prior to his ordination.

​

Father Bishoy Wassef was ordained by H.G. Bishop Daniel El Antony on the Altar of Saint Mark and Saint George Coptic Orthodox Church (Strathpine) by the name of Bishoy - on the 7th of August, 2015.

​

Our Beloved and Blessed Father Bishoy, has also been appointed as Deputy Vicar of the Coptic Orthodox Church in Queensland on the 1st of August, 2020.

​
